Acetaminophen - tramadol is a combination medication with 2 active ingredients: acetaminophen and tramadol. Both ingredients belong to the family of medications called analgesics, a class of drugs that is used to relieve pain. Acetaminophen - tramadol is used for the short-term (5 days or less) treatment of pain. It works by acting in the brain to relieve pain.

How should I use this medication?
The usual recommended dose of acetaminophen - tramadol is 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain relief. The maximum dose is 8 tablets per day. Acetaminophen - tramadol is only intended to be used for short-term (5 days or less) pain relief.
Many things can affect the dose of medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.
It is important to take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible and continue with your regular schedule.
