The Drug Clerk is primarily the first and last impression the customer has, so they must be able to deliver a consistent top level of service that our customer expects.

A Pharmacy Technician is responsible for verification of prescription information within Duane Reade Pharmacies. He or She must be able ensure the efficient operation of the Pharmacy Department and provide exceptional customer service.

Duane Reade Salaried Pharmacist

Duane Reade Salaried Pharmacist

Duane Reade is seeking a dynamic, flexible and motivated team player to join the Pharmacy department as a Pharmacist. This supervisory position will be responsible overseeing the workflow of the pharmacy and maintains the day to day procedures, scheduling and delegates staff responsibilities within Duane Reade stores, as well as, managing, supervising and training pharmacy staff. A pharmacist will also interpret physician’s prescriptions and compounds and dispenses medications within regulatory guidelines. Consult with customers regarding use of medication and potential drug interactions. Counsels customers and handles complex problem resolutions. Assist in maintenance of the pharmacy’s financial records.

Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists in the training of ancillary or replacement personnel.
  • Assures that all State and Federal agency requirements and standards are in place.
  • Assures services are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Controls key and access to Pharmacy and Narcotics cabinets.
  • Manages Pharmacy Inventory.
  • Maintains a register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control purposes.
  • Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
  • Oversees the ordering and safe storage of medical products.
  • Controls access to Pharmacy alarm system (N.J.).
  • Maintains and ensures confidentiality of patient and company information.
  • Maintains patient records and prescription files in accordance with regulations and policy.
  • Handles insurance questions and issues.
  • Promotes sales and develops business.
  • Observes and adheres to all company policies and the Pharmacy Best Practice Manual.
  • Other duties as needed.

Per-Diem Pharmacist
